Volunteers

Interested in becoming an LMC volunteer? We can use your help in a variety of ways and at a variety of times. The more help we have, the more we can offer your children.

In addition to needing volunteers for special events, we need help in the LMC on a daily basis. There are always a lot of clerical tasks that need to be done. Some examples are filing, processing new materials, laminating, helping to prepare bulletin boards and displays, and checking in and shelving books. Younger children often need help with checkout, and they like to have someone to share a book with. We can always use help straightening the shelves, as well. We really need your help in the mornings when we are checking in and shelving books.

The reason we are here, though, is for the children. That is why we ask for your help. We have visits each week by every class, as well as individuals and small groups dropping in at any time. You may be helping a child with an assignment, helping him or her find that "special" book or reading a story with a child. At another time, you may be helping a child do some research. You'll find that each day is different, and all are rewarding.

So you only have an hour? Or thirty minutes? That is okay. We would still love to have your help. In fact, most groups visit the LMC for an hour (or less) at a time.

This year Mrs. McDonald, one of our parents who has volunteered in the LMC, will be volunteer coordinator for the LMC. If you would like to help out this year please contact her at:
