GET TO KNOW THE LMC STAFF: Karlene O'Brien (left) and Maddie Sabovik (right)

Madison Sabovik is the LMC Director at Owen Elementary School. Ms. Sabovik came to Owen in 2007. She grew up in Naperville and attended district 204 schools. After teaching for 14 years, nearly all being in 4th grade, she decided to change career paths to work in the library where her days are surrounded by students, teachers, and books! Ms. Sabovik is very pleased to be at Owen Elementary School and enjoys reading, playing with her little pug, "Owen", rooting for the White Sox, and spending time with all the Owen Owls.

Karlene O'Brien is the LMC assistant. She is part time here at Owen and part time at Kendall. She previously was a teaching assistant at Patterson Elementary, and now enjoys her days helping and interacting with all the students in the school. Ms. O'Brien helps find great books and resources for students and also runs the Birthday Book Club. She enjoys spending time with her neices and nephews and enjoys rooting for all the Chicago sports teams.
