Q: WHAT DO WE DO AT THE MEETINGS?
A: The average meeting includes daily announcements, rating of new pieces (art or writing), publicity planning, and discussion on this year's magazine format.
Q: WHAT IF I WANT A WRITING WORKSHOP SESSION BUT CANNOT ATTEND THE MEETING?
A: There is a google form linked under submission tab on our website for writing workshops. Â
Q: WHAT GENRES ARE USUALLY PUBLISHED IN THE LITERARY MAGAZINE?
A: All genres and forms of art and writing are published, including but not limited to poetry, personal essays, scripts, songs, short stories, paintings, multi media artwork, sculptures, jewelry, etc.
Q: HOW ARE PIECES RATED BY THE STAFF?
A: Pieces are rated on a subjective scale based on potential, with the pieces with "high potential" being most considered for the magazine. However, not all highly rated pieces are published due to the high amount of submissions. Highly rated authors or artists may be asked to come in for revisions with staff, yet the integrity of the original piece and artist is always the priority. We value your work; let us show it.Â
Q: HOW OFTEN DO WE MEET?
A: In the beginning of the year, we meet every other Tuesday. As the school year progresses, we generally meet every Tuesday after school, and attendance is very important in terms of becoming a regular staff member. Normally a meeting is from 2:30 to 3:15 in B133. However, sometimes, meetings may run as late as 3:30.
Q: CAN I SUBMIT AN UNTITLED PIECE?
A: Yes, you can submit an untitled piece; however, it's encouraged that you do add a title to the piece. Your piece would be considered more unique and complete if it had a title, and it would be easier to find it in the table of contents (if it is published). Â
