What is the Essence?
The Essence is a literary publication produced entirely by Neuqua Valley students and supervised by the illustrious Gillian Schneider, and published yearly. Throughout the year staff members rate submissions, analyze how they relate to our chosen theme for the year, and select writing and art to be placed in the magazine. Submissions can come from any age student and provide a freedom for artists in the Neuqua Community. Our magazine is published and will be available for purchase in the spring. Staff members and published students receive free copies beforehand!

If you’re interested in being published in our school’s literary magazine, submit your art (photographs, paintings, statues, other) or your writing (poetry, short stories, essays, screenplays, other) to the Google form linked for next year. For more detailed information, please refer to the Submit​ tab.
