My Video Tutorial for students: http://youtu.be/2WC6XDDw3_w?hd=1
This video guides students on how to get to the online resources for our Geometry course.
REFLECTION:
The assignment that this artifact was created from was to create an student orientation or course road map. Even though what I created applies to the whole course, and not the one particular unit I had been focusing on for this course, I am SO HAPPY I did this. For a good number of years now I have had a pretty strong syllabus and class introduction, but talk about a dry topic for the first or second day of class. I hate having to spend time in class going through this document and all the other quick resources students need to know for our class. In addition, I know students hate it. Not only do they do the same thing for 6 other classes that day, but I am sure it all starts to sound the same and information blends together. Now that we are 1:1 with Chromebooks this is an engaging way start using those devices on day 1 AND get the required information out to students at the same time. In addition, they ALWAYS have access to it so if they need a refresher it is readily available. I cannot wait to use this video tutorial for this first time this school year (2017-18). I hope to get some constructive criticism from the students to improve it as the years move forward.
