Chrome Browser

Signing into Chrome is the best way to streamline and enhance your experience with all Google Apps for Education Products. Signing into Chrome is different than signing into your Google Account. Signing into Chrome and syncing Chrome across devices is essential to improve both your experience with Google Apps and Chrome.

Chrome Browser Training and Help - The power of the Chrome Browser can be enhanced by visiting the browser’s settings. Click on the Customize and Control menu in the top right corner of the browser to learn more about Chrome settings. The Google Chrome YouTube Channel is another great resource.

Chrome Extensions - Extensions are programs built into the Chrome Browser that enhance the functionality and efficiency of using the web. Extensions make browsing the web a better experience by providing quick access to tools that will enhance your website experience. (When Chromebooks are managed by a School or District, students can typically only install pre-approved extensions on their Chromebook.)

Chrome OS Apps - Chrome OS Apps are web-based applications (programs) that are designed to be used entirely within the browser. These apps allow you to create documents, edit photos, and listen to music, and much more without the need to download and install additional programs. The Chrome Web Store has an extensive collection of free and paid apps that work with your Chromebook. (When Chromebooks are managed by a School or District, students can typically only install pre-approved apps on their Chromebook.)

Cast for Education - Google Cast for Education is a free Chrome app that allows students and teachers to share their screens wirelessly from anywhere in the classroom.

The Omnibox - The Chrome Omnibox is similar to traditional browser address bars but provides additional features including searching the Internet and completing tasks.

Chrome Tabs - Tabs allow you to open multiple web pages in a single browser window without cluttering your desktop. Mastering tabbed browsing can speed up your browsing experience and make multiple web pages easier to manage.

Chrome Bookmarks - You can edit, delete, and organize the web pages you bookmark to make it easier to find them. You can also update your bookmarks across your devices so that they show up in Chrome whenever and wherever you log in.

Manage saved passwords - You can have Chrome remember your passwords for different sites. Whenever you sign in to a website, Chrome asks if you want to save your account info for that site.
