Welcome, guests!
We are excited to have you join us for our school dance. To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful event for everyone, please
carefully review and adhere to the following guidelines.
These guidelines are in place to uphold our school's values and for your safety.
As a guest, you are expected to abide by the same standards of conduct as our enrolled students. This includes, but is not limited to:
Respect for Others: Treat all students, chaperones, staff, and property with respect. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or any form of disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
No Vandalism or Damage: Guests are responsible for any damage caused to school property or the venue.
Prohibition of Controlled Substances: The possession, use, or being under the influence of alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, illegal drugs, or any controlled substance is strictly prohibited on school grounds or at school-sponsored events.
No Weapons: Weapons of any kind are not permitted.
Appropriate Behavior: Public displays of affection should be kept to a minimum and be appropriate for a school-sponsored event. Disruptive or unruly behavior will not be tolerated.
Stay Within Designated Areas: Guests must remain within the designated dance areas and follow all instructions from chaperones and school staff.
Leaving the Event: Once a guest leaves the dance, they will not be permitted re-entry.
Guests are expected to dress in a manner that is appropriate for a high school dance. Our dress code is designed to promote a positive and respectful atmosphere. Please adhere to the following:
General Appropriateness: Clothing should be modest and not overly revealing.
No Undergarments Showing: Undergarments should not be visible.
No Offensive Content: Clothing should not display offensive language, symbols, or images (e.g., promoting drugs, alcohol, violence, hate speech, or sexually suggestive themes).

Specific Dance Attire (Examples):
Semi-Formal/Formal Dances: Dresses, skirts, dress pants, button-up shirts, ties, blazers, and dress shoes are generally appropriate.
Casual Dances: Jeans, casual pants, shirts, and appropriate footwear are generally acceptable.
Chaperone Discretion: Chaperones and school administration reserve the right to determine if a guest's attire is appropriate for the event. Guests who are deemed to be in violation of the dress code may be asked to change or may be denied entry.
Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in consequences consistent with California Education Code sections related to student conduct and school safety. Please be aware of the following:
Immediate Removal: Guests found in violation of any guideline, especially those related to controlled substances, weapons, or violent/disruptive behavior, will be immediately removed from the event.
Notification of Parents/Guardians: Parents or guardians of guests who are removed from the event will be notified.
Law Enforcement Involvement: In cases involving illegal activities (e.g., possession of drugs/alcohol, assault, vandalism), law enforcement will be contacted as required by California Education Code. This may lead to criminal charges.
Future Event Restrictions: Guests who violate these guidelines may be prohibited from attending future school events.
Liability for Damages: Guests and/or their parents/guardians may be held financially responsible for any damages caused to school property or the venue.
California Education Code Reference:
Disciplinary Actions: California Education Code sections, such as EC 48900, outline grounds for suspension and expulsion, which include serious misconduct, possession of controlled substances, weapons, and causing damage to school property. While these primarily apply to enrolled students, the principles of maintaining a safe and orderly school environment extend to guests at school-sponsored events.
School Safety: California Education Code emphasizes the responsibility of schools to provide a safe learning environment. Violations by guests that compromise this safety will be addressed seriously.
Parental Responsibility: In certain circumstances, parents or guardians may be held responsible for the actions of their minor children under California law.
We appreciate your cooperation in making this a memorable and positive experience for everyone!
