Active Schools 

Active Schools Summary:

The recent alarming projection that four in ten adults will be overweight or obese by 2035 in the UK alone, highlighted for our partners the essential to educate the next generation on the importance of leading active lives from an early age.

At the onset of this project, our partners were keen to create lesson plans and case studies to encourage children to be more active and to live a healthier lifestyle. However, this project, like many others, was hindered by Covid-19 and the lockdown, all not very conducive to an Active Schools Project. Regardless, our partners have successfully developed innovative and inspiring ways to promote a healthy lifestyle and the importance of staying active even during a global pandemic. This project was funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme.

O1 – Active Schools in the Classroom – Cross-curricular lesson plans to promote being active in the classroom.

O2 – Active Schools Campaigning – By including the pupil-led design of a logo, baseline assessments and survey reports and dissemination activities.

O3 – Active Schools Cookbooks and Recipes – Produced with the pupils alongside parents, focusing on traditional dishes from the regions.

O4 – Active schools gamification App
