Learning activities
Croatian and Slovenian delegations traveled to Czelacz by bus, a low impact transportation. All activities used sustainable materials if possible, like recycled cardboard for backgrounds and recycled paper.
MONDAY 09.05.2022 On Monday morning, delegations were welcomed by headmistress Dorota Straczek. After that, students and teachers visited the classrooms and could get to know each other a little better thanks to ice-breaking activities in the form of games prepared by the Polish school. Then, project participants watched a recorded introduction of The Legend of the Czeladzian Witch. After the performance, everyone went to the gym to prepare the layout and score of the stop-motion animation to be recorded by using modern digital tools. After dinner, students were divided into 5 groups and expressed themselves artfully to create the scenes and figurines in plasticine related to the legend.
TUESDAY 10.05.2022 Delegations visited a coal mine in Zabrze, descending 320 meters underground, learning about legends tied to the mine. The tour lasted almost 3 hours with expert guidance in English. After the visit to mines, the group headed to Katowice to visit the open air Silesian Museum, designed by the Austrian company Riegler Riewe Architekten from Graz, and built on the territory of the old coal mine "Katowice". Participants experienced an overview of Polish history and art, and also climbed the tower and enjoyed the panoramic view.
WEDNESDAY 11.05.2022 Delegations visited the city hall. Czeladz’s city mayor warmly welcomed the guests and told the most important facts about the city and city government. After that, students and teachers visited the ruins of the Ogrodzieniec Castle, placed at the highest hill in the Krakow-Czestochowa plateau (515 m. high). The castle is part of a walking trail that connects a number of famous castles of this Polish region. The day ended with workshops where students by groups made animated films with the scenarios, scenes and characters made of plasticine made the day before. The animated film was made using the mobile app Life Lapse Stop Motion.
THURSDAY 12.05.2022 Teachers and students visited the beautiful city of Krakow. The history of Krakow is connected with beautiful legends about the founder of the city or the legend of the dreaded dragon Smoke, cunningly defeated near his cave at the foot of Wawel Hill by the son of King Krak.
FRIDAY 03.06.2022 The team of teachers held a work meeting where they analyzed the implementation of mobility plans and programs in Poland, and discussed upcoming mobility activities in Estonia and Turkey. After the meeting, delegations explored the main parts of the city and the monument to the Czeladz Witch - the heroine of Polish legend created also with plasticine figurines by students and filmed. Then, participants visited the Elektrownia Museum. As a closing activity, the quiz prepared in the Quizizz app was played by students and teachers.
