Join us at the park to Share the Love and celebrate Valentine’s Day! Students will make Valentine cards, a fun heart art craft and other activities to take home. We will also make Valentine Cards to share with seniors at the local Senior home. Families are welcome to join us after the activities to pass out our Valentine’s cards at the local Senior center. Join us on a walking tour of Carrillo Ranch Historic Park in Carlsbad, CA. To prepare for your trip, keep in mind the following:

• Carrillo Ranch is a large Park (27 acres). Distances from the parking lot to the Visitors Center or to the Hacienda and points in between are quite lengthy. Those whose strength is impaired by age or disability may find touring the site overtaxing.
• Come prepared. Dress sensibly. The terrain is uneven in certain areas. Sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing are musts. Some may wish to carry bottled water if the weather is hot and/or muggy.
• Some slopes are steep. Pathways have been dressed with decomposed granite and can be slippery. Especially avoid the roadway between the parking lot and the Caretaker’s Cottage. Use the paved ADA ramp as a safer alternative.

*This event is recommended for grades 4th & up due to content and the amount of walking.

May the Force Be With You as you embark on the exciting adventure of CAASPP test prep! There will be a Caaspp test scavenger hunt, hands-on games, activities, and prizes to ignite the force within you. Our Mobile Lending Library and Usborne Books will also be on site to meet your resource needs. This event is appropriate for Jedi’s and droids in grades 3rd-8th specifically but younger siblings are welcome to join and enjoy activities for their age as well. RSVP here.

The Flower Fields Foundation Presents the 2019-2020 Flower Fields Education Program! The Flower Fields® in Carlsbad, California has 50+ acres of extraordinary color overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Flower Fields Educational Program is a great way to learn about growing plants, water conservation, composting, and local history.

Please note there are 2 programs available for students, based on age group. Please ensure each Inspire Student and their party are all enrolled in the correct group together.

PRE-K to 2ND GRADE STUDENTS will participate in the On-site Growing Program. This presentation includes composting with worms, an art project, music and a wagon ride through the fields.

3RD to 5TH GRADE STUDENTS will participate in the Investigative Program. Students will receive an investigative portfolio, dissect flowers, learn about insects, the effects of water usage, pollination, plant benefits, composting with worms and take a wagon ride through the fields.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

All child guests in attendance who are not within the program age groups are considered non-participants in the program and are required to pay the $10.00 Admission Fee (Wagon ride is included with fee).

Programs are for students only. Chaperones and adult guests will not be participating in the educational program activities, however they are welcome to enjoy the wagon rides.
