Schedule

The Schedule feature allows you to automate the execution of configurations at specified times. You can schedule one-time or recurring executions. You can access this feature in Management > Schedule.

You can create a new schedule using the Create Schedule button. You need to enter a name, and after this you are able  to complete the remaining configuration.

Configurations Section

This section defines which configurations will run when the schedule triggers. You can create configurations in Management > My Configurations. The configurations are enqueued and DMM runs only one at a time, starting the next one when the running one finishes.

Occurrence Settings

Choose when your schedule should run. You can run it just once using Specific Moment, where you select the date and time. It can also be recurrent using the remaining options (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly), where you select the end date of the schedule.

How schedules are triggered

Schedules are not started at the exact moment they are due. A timer checks for pending schedules every 15 minutes, and on each pass it looks for schedules whose execution time

has already passed, using a margin of 2 minutes.

When the timer finds pending schedules:

• If no schedule is running at that moment, it starts the one with the oldest execution date.

• If a schedule is already running, it starts nothing and checks again on the next pass, 15 minutes later.

A schedule that cannot start because another one is running is not discarded. Its execution is postponed to the next pass of the timer, which means it may start up to 15 minutes after the time it was due. When several schedules are pending, they are started in order of their execution date, oldest first.

Because of this, two separate schedules never overlap: the second waits for the first to finish and then for the next pass of the timer. If you need one configuration to start

immediately after the previous one ends, with no waiting in between, associate both configurations with the same schedule instead of creating two schedules — configurations within a schedule are enqueued and run one after another.

One wording check before you publish: the 15-minute interval and the 2-minute margin are the defaults as described by the team. If either is configurable in the DMM Schedule

module (a site property or the timer schedule itself in Service Center), the page should say so, otherwise a client who changes the timer frequency will find the manual contradicting their environment.
