To the Class of 2020:
Your time here at Shamokin Area was cut short however you will always have a life lesson that others may never experience. You have now learned to never take a single second of any day for granted. You will always have this experience to look back on to be a more successful person. I am so proud of each and every one of you. You embody the essence of what we want our students at Shamokin Area to be. You have set the bar for those who follow you to strive for. You are the leaders and role models to all students at Shamokin Area. Remember, though changes come as time rolls on to always be loyal and true!!!!
To the Class of 2020:
Congratulations to each and every one of you! You have reached a memorable milestone and are now ready to move into the next chapter of your life. During your time here at Shamokin Area, you have received a top notch education, which has prepared you for a bright future. Although your last several months of high school have been abruptly disrupted, I know that you are no stranger to adversity and uncertainty. You have had many challenges during your years here at Shamokin Area, but nothing that compares to what you have been and are currently facing. Schools have been closed since March 13 and you have been attending classes virtually and completing your coursework remotely from home. I understand that this new learning environment has put additional pressures on you and your families. You have been separated from your friends, teachers, and administrators who support and care about you. I know that you are all heartbroken about your senior year activities being altered. But, now more than ever, I have seen your resilience and strength as a Class. You are a remarkable and extraordinary group. I am certainly proud of each and every one of you!
Sincerely,
Chris J. Venna
Superintendent

Always make the most of the time you have. Family, friends, sports, etc. You never know when it can be taken away. Best of Luck with your future en devours.....Kopit
Even on the bleakest days the sun still shines behind the clouds. Your senior year has been clouded by so many uncertainties, and you may find your future appears unclear. Remember that you are never defined by your circumstances, but your actions define your circumstances. If you reach for the stars even through clouded vision, your dreams can come true. Stay true to yourself.
Wishing you the best as you pursue your dreams. Dream big!!
You were such a fun class to teach, and you will all be missed dearly. Please always know that you'll always have me as cheerleader rooting for you in your journey through life. Be well!

I am so proud of each and every one of you! I wanted to share one of my favorite quotes with all of you that seems appropriate during this time:
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Always remember to turn on the light!
