Dear Seniors,
This year's senior year did not end the way it was supposed to. No sports, school play, prom or formal graduation. But, even against the odds, you should all be proud of the accomplishments you have made during your time at Shamokin Area. You have gone through times that are unprecedented, once in a lifetime, and I'm confident you will come out on the other side stronger, smarter and more driven. You are the future and we at Shamokin Area are proud of what you have become. We have high hopes for what you will accomplish in your/our future.
Athletically, you didn't get the chance to finish you sports career on a high note. This type of situation gives the saying "play every game as if it's your last" a whole new meaning. You never know when that last game will be. It could be when you are younger or, if you are fortunate, it could be when you are older. But, with or without sports, you have the rest of your life to do great things, make a name for yourself and have an impact on the world. You are the future whether on or off the athletic venue.
No matter what the next chapter in life is for you, the place you call home is proud of you and we wish for the best in whatever avenue you pursue. As Bo Jackson said, "set your goals high and don't stop till you get there."
Best of luck and thank you for your contributions to Shamokin Area School District.
