Unlinked to the two above: W. Elliot Woodward's 6th Semi-annual Sale 3/1865:2943: "1857 Cent (nickel size) copper. Fine Proof. Rare." $6 to Cohen.
3) Corroded XF. Smithsonian Institution.
In Woodward's 3/1865 sale (above) lot # 2944 was described as "1857 cent (nickel size [Meaning not a large cent]) Struck on planchet nearly double size, rev. plain." It sold for 75¢ to Crosby. The present whereabouts is unknown today.
