Obv. Flying Eagle, 13 stars. Triangular die chip above denticle under 1. Same as PT1. Die stage C: Repolished. Die stiations 12:30 – 6:30. Feathers under Eagle's neck nearly disconnected.

Rev. Laurel (olive) wreath. Two leaves under E in STATES. Same die as 1854 PT1 & PT2.

Die Stage B: same stage as 1854. Small triangular clash marks between E and Wreath. Die striations 11:00 - 5:00 as well as 12:00 to 6:00 (mostly lower half of die).

Die stage C: Clash Marks now polished away. The dot in the cent (Clash from LIBERTY head ear) is now just a shallow bump. Die striations 10:00 – 6:00.
