About 30% of the VEGAS observing time was dedicated to the Fornax Deep Survey (FDS, Peletier+2020)
FDS is a new, multi-band imaging survey of the Fornax cluster of galaxies, to cover the Fornax cluster out to the virial radius (~0.7 Mpc), with an area of 22 deg2 around the central galaxy NGC1399 (lower-left panel), and additional 6 deg2 around the SW subgroup centered on NGC1316 (lower-right panel)
