The Solaris Odyssey, 3rd step: a permanent solar observatory in Antarctica at the Mario Zucchelli and Concordia stations

Solaris is approved by the PNRA (Italian National Plan for Research in Antarctica) as a permanent observatory in Antarctica. Solaris will exploit existing radiotelescopes at the Mario Zucchelli (MZS) & Concordia stations for solar monitoring at high radio-frequencies, after early polar campaigns aimed to adapt the instrumentation for Solar observations (link to the approved PNRA proposal).

Solar observations and monitoring are expected to start at MZS during 2025-2026 period.
