INTERIM RECTOR: The Rev. Robin Teasley
Robin grew up in Richmond, Virginia and has lived in Indiana and Tennessee. She is a graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, NC with a degree in Chemistry. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond and a Certificate for Anglican Studies from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia. Born and raised as a Baptist, Robin spent time in Lutheran and Catholic schools which instilled in her a love for liturgy. She and her husband Paul joined Holy Communion Episcopal Church while living in Memphis and then raised their three children at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Midlothian. Redeemer was also her sponsoring parish, and she was ordained in the Diocese of Southern Virginia in 2011. After serving parishes in both Southern Virginia and Virginia dioceses, and exploring a call to intentional interim ministry, she became certified for that
ministry by the Center for Congregational Health at Wake Forest University. Robin and Paul have three adult children and one granddaughter. Robin enjoys time with family and friends, reading, meditative walking, and any beach she can find.
PARISH ADMINISTRATOR: Sheila Robertson
Sheila joined the office staff at Immanuel in 2022. She was born and raised in Missouri and briefly lived in North Carolina before moving to Virginia in 2021. Her background is in Early Childhood Education, and she spent many years working at her previous church as the Special Events Childcare Coordinator for their preschool children's ministry program and has a very extensive administrative background as well. Sheila and her husband Jim have two children: Zach and Mariah. Prior to working at Immanuel, Sheila assisted the Chief of Police at Wake Forest University. Since moving to Virginia, she has taken a less stressful avenue by working at Immanuel, being a petsitter and is also a licensed Real Estate Agent. Her passions for both working with people and communications have been a great benefit to our congregation.
MUSIC DIRECTOR: Justin Williams
Justin began as a substitute organist at Immanuel in 2011 and officially joined the church staff as Music Director in September 2018. He holds an undergraduate degree in music education from Virginia Commonwealth University and studied web development at the University of Richmond. He has taught music in public schools for many years, most recently at Clover Hill High School in Midlothian, and currently works in IT. Justin has one daughter with his wife Roxanne, who also occasionally brings her French Horn to play at services. We are so blessed to benefit from Justin’s talents and passion for music here at Immanuel.
CHERUB SCHOOL DIRECTOR: Ashley Phan
Ashley began serving as preschool director at Immanuel in August 2021. She is a graduate of Old Dominion University, where she received a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education. Ashley and her husband Paul have two children: Abigail and Alton. In their free time they enjoy being outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and camping together in their pop-up camper. Ashley's love of, and talent for, nurturing young children is an invaluable asset to our community.
SEXTON: Seselia “Bunny” Coles
Bunny joined the team at Immanuel in the early 90’s. She, and her husband Jerome, are long-time residents of Old Church and active members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She has two daughters: Angelique and Rhonda. In her free time Bunny enjoys playing cards and fellowshipping with others. Our community is so blessed not only by Bunny’s work here at Immanuel, but even more so by her sweet and caring spirit.
