A quiet and empty place/room (No TV or music or any other sounds). No other person is allowed to enter your exam venue while you are taking the online exam.
Clean chair and desk. The desk or walls around you should not have any writing.
Good lighting. The lighting in the exam venue should be bright enough to be considered “daylight” quality. Overhead lighting is preferred. If overhead lighting is not available, the source of light should not be behind you.
Only invigilator- permitted materials on work surface. Remove any books, papers, pens, calculators, notebooks, phones. Unless posted rules for the exam specifically permit those materials.
All other electronics other than PC/laptop turned off.
Auto Proctor is an automated proctoring solution for online tests. AutoProctor monitors the student’s environment and actions in real-time to determine malpractice while taking the test. IMPORTANT
It is crucial to TAKE THE DEMO TEST BEOFRE THE ACTUAL EXAM to ensure that your device works smoothly during the exam. This step is critical, as any technical issues during the exam can prevent you from accessing the exam Google Form, potentially resulting in the loss of your exam.
The demo test serves as a valuable opportunity to check your camera, microphone, and internet connection. If any issues arise, you can address them beforehand to avoid disruptions during the actual exam. Make sure to take the demo test seriously to ensure a successful and stress-free exam experience.

Testing Device Requirements
Use a modern PC, laptop or Chromebook, old devices will not work with auto proctor.
The device must be equipped with built-in or external microphone, speakers and external camera.
The device you are using to take the exam must not have more than one display or monitor. For example, if you usually use a laptop with a monitor connected, disconnect your monitor and use only the laptop screen. This also Includes smart TVs as they will be detected by auto proctor (They must be turned off).
The device you are using to take the exam must have a chrome browser, any other browsers will not properly work with auto proctor and you might face issues during the exam.
The device you are using to take the exam must have a reliable, fast internet connection. If your wireless is unstable, use wired connection.
Choose the device you will work with to view autoproctor setup requirements .
IMPORTANT : PHONES AND TABLETS ARE NOT ALLOWED
To take the exams, you will need two devices set up as follows:
Device 1: Exam-Taking Device
This device is dedicated to accessing and completing the exam.
Mute the microphone and speaker to prevent any sound echo.
Device 2: Back View Camera Device
This device is used to provide a back view of your workspace for monitoring purposes.
Keep the microphone and speaker on to enable clear communication throughout the exam
You are allowed to use a mobile phone as a replacement for an external camera. However, ensure it is fully charged or connected to a charger during the entire exam session.
Have your photo ID ready.
Check your equipment to ensure that it is in working order/battery is charged, and that space is freed up on the computer to take the exam.
Remove any unallowed physical and digital notes that do not pertain to the exam from the workspace /room.
Are dressed comfortably but decently and that you removes any hats/caps, sunglasses and headphones/EarPods.
Take the exam in a private location and that nobody is allowed in the room during the exam.
Have only the chrome browser installed and that it is the latest updated version. The same applies for chromebook users.
Log out of all programs, applications and websites that do not pertain to the exams.
Take the test in a well-lit, quiet and private room. Overhead lighting is preferred. The light source must not be directly behind you.
Remove any cellphones, tablets, smart watches or laptops not connected with the live invigilator from the room.
The following items should not be on your desk or used during your online exam, unless posted rules for the exam specifically such as books, papers, pens, calculators, textbooks and notebooks.
You may have a water bottle with a removed label.
You should be present for all your exams. Students who are absent for any exam should present a medical certificate.
You must be punctual. Students who attend the Google meet after the prescribed check-in time will not be allowed to take the exam.
You should verify your identity using a photo ID that has your name and photo on the same side. The name on the ID should match the full name that is in the school system. Malaysians can use their Mykad and foreign students can use their passports/passport copies will be allowed.
You should dress as though you are in a public setting.
You should not use headphones, ear pods, or any other type of listening equipment.
You should not use a phone for any reason unless you are asked to by your invigilator.
Use the restroom before the exam.
Under no circumstances should you use headphones, ear pods, or any other listening equipment during the exam. These devices can be seen as an attempt to gain an unfair advantage and are strictly prohibited.
Do not have any notes, books, or unauthorized materials within reach of your exam workspace. Your workspace should only contain the materials explicitly allowed by your institution or proctor.
Avoid sitting in a dark place during the exam. Make sure your workspace is well-lit so that you are clearly visible on the webcam. Proper lighting is essential for monitoring and ensuring exam integrity.
It's important to sit at a proper table and chair during the exam, not on a sofa or bed. This ensures an upright and stable posture, making it easier for the proctor to monitor your activities and maintain exam security.
Do not use a handphone or smartwatch without prior notice from the invigilators. If there are exceptional circumstances that require you to have these devices, seek permission and guidance from the exam invigilators in advance.
Only use the three tabs specified by your institution or proctor for the exam. Do not open any additional tabs or applications during the exam. Unauthorized web browsing or app usage is a violation of exam rules.
Do not take the exam while someone else is in the room with you. To maintain exam integrity, it is essential that you are the sole occupant of the room during the exam. Having someone else in the room could be considered a violation of the rules.
Avoid taking the exam in the dining area or any open place. It's crucial to select a quiet and close place that is free from distractions and potential interruptions. Your chosen location should be conducive to concentration and conducive to maintaining the confidentiality of your exam.
Do not sign in from any other device throughout the entire exam period. Daily checks will be conducted, and if any device other than the designated Exam-Taking Device and Back View Camera Device is used, you will receive a ZERO for all exams.
From the classroom, join the meeting.

You need to perform the check-in procedure and wait patiently until the invigilator tells you the exam is posted.
All students will be individually checked in. The invigilator will conduct a check-in with you when it is your turn.
Check-In procedure
Show your photo ID to your invigilator.
Join with 2 devices (example: laptop and phone/tablet) one for the front view / conducting the exams and another one for the side view.
Use a device to scan your exam workspace, as shown below:
You must remain in the exam-ready position for the entire duration of the exam, and ensure that the side view matches the example in the picture below.
You must share your screen and show the invigilator that ON LY TWO DEVICES are connected (front and side view). The examiner will detect if any additional devices are used during the entire examination period, which will result in failure of all exams. Follow the steps below to show the invigilator the connected devices.
Share screen by clicking the "Present Now" button at the bottom of the Google Meet window and selecting "Your Entire Screen" then clicking on the screen preview and click "Share"
Open a new tab in the browser.
In the new tab, navigate to their Google account by either:
Clicking Account from Google Apps
or Clicking on the profile picture in the top-right corner of Google Chrome and selecting "Manage your Google Account."
or typing https://myaccount.google.com into the browser omni box.
Once in your Google account settings, click on the "Security" tab on the left-hand menu.
Scroll down to the "Your Devices" section.
Click on "Manage Devices" to show all devices that are currently signed into your Google account.
The screen will display a list of all devices, including the current device and any other devices logged into your Google account.
Verify that only the necessary devices are signed in.
Look for any unusual or unauthorized devices that could indicate potential cheating or external assistance.
If you notice any unauthorized or extra devices, click on the device and select "Sign out".
The list of devices must show Singed Out as the status of any unauthorized device
Wait until all others are checked in.
IMPORTANT: After the check-in procedure, you are not allowed to leave the exam hall until the exam duration ends. Therefore make sure you have already gone to the bathroom.
The exam will be posted in the Exam Hall Classroom.
You can open it from the stream, classwork, or the to do list in the classroom.
Only three tabs must be open in one chrome window, the classroom tab, the meet tab and the exam tab (as shown below).
No other tabs or applications are allowed to be open and the auto proctor will record this breach and you might be disqualified from the exam.
The camera, microphone and speakers must remain open all the time.
Follow the Exam-Ready position you see on the right. You should be positioned so that you can see the screen and the invigilator can see your workspace. This position should not be altered unless you have been told do so by your invigilator.
During the exam,
Remain in the "Exam Ready Position".
The autoproctor will show a regular google form that you are used to. Read the questions carefully and answer them thoroughly.
The invigilator will check in with you whenever there is a need.
You are not allowed to do any of the following actions. If you do not adhere to these restrictions, AutoProctor will detect it and record it in your exam log file.
Do not make noise as the app is sensitive to noise and disruptive actions.
Do not leave your workspace as the app can detect if nobody is in front of the camera.
Do not excessively move your face or body as the app can detect face and body movements.
Do not switch to any other apps or tabs while you are doing your exam. AutoProctor can detect that too.
After the exam,
Normally, on a Google Form, you have one Purple Submit button at the bottom of the Form. On AutoProctor, you have a Purple Submit button at the bottom, and a Green button at the top.
IMPORTANT: Always click on the Purple Submit button first, and then click the Green button.
If you do not click the Purple Submit button, all the answers you have entered will be lost! So, always click the Purple Submit button first.
After that, click the Green Submit button at the top. If you do not click this button, your teacher will not be able to see your submission on AutoProctor.
For certain exams, you will have to use a phone at the end of the exam to scan the answer sheet. Your subject teachers will inform you in advance. However, the phone must be switched off before the exam and only switched on upon the instruction of the invigilator. The phone must remain face down throughout the duration of the exam.
Follow the Exam-Ready position you see on the right for those exams.
Write your full name and class at the top of each paper that you use.
Answer all questions, showing all your steps with clear and organized handwriting or you may lose marks.
When you complete the exam, inform your invigilator, then use cam scanner as the application to scan your document.
Scan your answers to pdf and assemble into a single document.
You will only have 10 minutes to complete the scan.
After you scan, email the PDF to your IMAS email.
Open your email in your exam device and download the PDF.
Upload the PDF in the submission form that will be posted by your teacher in the classroom.
Invigilator will confirm receipt.
Student may only leave the google meeting when the invigilator clears you to go.
