International Leadership of Texas (ILTexas) is proud to announce its Marine Corps JROTC students participated in the 9/11 Heroes Run 5K in Arlington Sept. 17.

ILTEXAS KSHS MCJROTC took part in a one-mile formation run as motivation for the other runners. Students typically finish prior to the main runners and then cheer for them at the finish line.

Runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels are invited to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who’ve served our nation since.

Participating in the event furthers ILTexas’ motto, “Others Before Self.” The goal of Others Before Self is to provide opportunities for our students to develop leadership skills of research, organization, advocacy, communication, public speaking, teamwork, planning, execution and reflective evaluation to become conscious, thoughtful and effective leaders in their community and world.
