Monday, October 5th

Students will explain how the U.S. Constitution protects freedom in America. Then they will create a collage using words and pictures that illustrate what life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and limits on government means. Finally, they will include a summary statement with the collage that explains why the words and pictures in the collage were chosen.

Los estudiantes explicarán cómo la Constitución de los Estados Unidos protege la libertad en el país. Students will identify local, state, national, and world ethnic or cultural celebrations commemorated in these communities. Then they will brainstorm a list of cultural celebrations in the local community, state, nation, and the world.

Thursday, October 8th

 Students will identify and define cultural components and explain how they help preserve different ethnic and cultural celebrations. Then they will write or illustrate an example of each cultural component and explain how it helps people remember their culture.

Friday, October 9th

Students will identify cultural celebrations that are important in the local community and other communities and explain the significance of these celebrations. Then they will create an anchor chart to list at least two local, state, and worldwide cultural celebrations and include components for each example.
