Monday, August 24th

Students will identify ways that communities meet people’s recreation needs by comparing types of recreation areas that are in a community.  Then they will write to create a t-chart to compare at least two examples of recreation services provided by the local government and state government.

Los estudiantes identificarán las formas en que las comunidades satisfacen las necesidades recreativas de las personas, comparando los tipos de áreas recreativas existentes en una comunidad. Luego, elaborarán un cuadro comparativo para contrastar al menos dos ejemplos de servicios recreativos ofrecidos por el gobierno local y el gobierno estatal.

Tuesday, August 25th

Students will identify how communities use institutions to promote order, security, and stability, and explain how societies act to guarantee the well-being of their citizens. Then they will create an acrostic poem from the word COMMUNITY. 

Los estudiantes identificarán cómo las comunidades utilizan las instituciones para promover el orden, la seguridad y la estabilidad, y explicarán cómo actúan las sociedades para garantizar el bienestar de sus ciudadanos. Luego, crearán un acróstico con la palabra COMUNIDAD.

Wednesday, August 26th

Students will identify terms used when studying chronology by defining the following terms: year, decade and century. Then they will write to explain the difference between a year, a decade, and a century, and identify the year, decade, and century in which they were born. 

Los estudiantes identificarán términos utilizados en el estudio de la cronología definiendo los siguientes conceptos: año, década y siglo. A continuación, redactarán una explicación sobre la diferencia entre un año, una década y un siglo, e identificarán el año, la década y el siglo en que nacieron.

Thursday, August 27th

Students will identify terms used when studying chronology, and analyze and interpret timelines to describe key events in the timeline. Then they will create a timeline that is divided by years with events from my life. I will write a description of at least two events on my timeline.

Los estudiantes identificarán términos utilizados al estudiar cronología, y analizarán e interpretarán líneas de tiempo para describir acontecimientos clave en ellas. Luego, crearán una línea de tiempo dividida por años con sucesos de su propia vida. Escribirán una descripción de al menos dos acontecimientos de su línea de tiempo.

Friday, August 28th

Students will identify terms used when studying chronology, and analyze and interpret timelines to describe key events in the timeline. Then they will verbally present their individual timeline and explain how they categorized events in sequential order. 

Los estudiantes identificarán los términos utilizados al estudiar la cronología, y analizarán e interpretarán líneas de tiempo para describir los acontecimientos clave que estas presentan. A continuación, expondrán oralmente su línea de tiempo individual y explicarán cómo clasificaron los acontecimientos en orden secuencial.
