Teaching Philosophy
As I work toward becoming an art educator, I believe that teaching and learning go hand in hand. I am committed to remaining open to growth, understanding that even as a teacher, there will always be opportunities to learn, from my experiences, my environment, and most importantly, my students.
My goal as an educator is to guide students in developing both their artistic skills and their sense of self. I want to create a classroom environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and confidence. I believe that when students are given the space to express themselves through art, they also build trust in their own abilities and voices.
I strive to help students explore their imagination, think creatively, and dream big. By introducing them to new artistic techniques and ideas, I hope to expand their understanding of what art can be and inspire them to see creativity as a lifelong skill.
Representation is also deeply important to me. I want my students to see that art is more than just a hobby; it’s a valuable field, a form of communication, and a career path worth pursuing. I aim to show them how art connects to the real world, personal expression, and even joy.
Most importantly, I want art to be fun. My classroom will be a safe, welcoming space where students feel free to take risks, explore new ideas, and enjoy the creative process, not just focus on the final result. Through art, I hope to inspire positivity, curiosity, and confidence that extend far beyond the classroom.
