Who is eligible to apply?

All International students from HEIs (for Year 2 to Year 4 ONLY).

Fees

The inbound program described above is where a registered student of HEIs from a partner university abroad is attached to Kulliyyah of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) for a period of less than a year. Students pay only their home institution’s tuition fees. No additional tuition fees are imposed by the host institution. However, students are required to pay administrative fees, visa application fees, and other incidental fees. They also pay for their own living, accommodation and transport (flight and land) expenses.

The inbound program may also be with non-partner HEIs. In this case, you need to pay the home as well as the host institution’s tuition fees. Other expenses such as accommodation, airfare, local logistics and personal expenses shall also be borne by individual students.

Academic Requirements

It is the requirement of the Malaysian Ministry of Education and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) that all students pursuing higher education in Malaysian institutions must meet the entry requirements of the relevant programs. This requirement also covers study abroad students who plan to study short-term courses in the host institution.

Language Requirement

All courses in IIUM are conducted in English. It is a requirement that students who apply to study at IIUM must have a suitable level of English proficiency. The general requirement for entry into a degree program is IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550.

Inbound mobility

Kulliyyah of Engineering, International Islamic University is delighted to welcome international exchange students from all over the world with the opportunity to gain quality education in Malaysia.

We can categorize the inbound mobility into three major programs as follows:

Physical Mobility
Virtual Mobility; and
Edutourism Mobility.

It can be implemented on credited or non-credited. The credited mobility program requires a minimum of at least one semester and a maximum of two semesters. The non-credited mobility program can be implemented in a short term of one (1) day or a minimum of four to eight (4-8) hours cumulatively to three (3) months and in a long term of more than three (3) months to twelve (12) months.

Edutourism Mobility is a program under the Mobility program with a tourism activity by international students registered with the overseas HEIs visiting Malaysia, where the educational and learning process in IIUM is the largest contribution to their visit.

Blended Mobility Program is a Mobility program where part of the program is run physically and partly online, attended by the same students at both physical and virtual sessions.

Hybrid Mobility Program is a Mobility program that is attended by some of the students physically, and the rest of the students virtually at the same time.

From the programs mentioned above, we can be further categorized into the following activities:

academic and research;
student exchange;
industry mobility;
academic visit;
summer/winter course;
cultural exchange;
industrial internship; and
other related activities.

Note: For the industrial internship program, it requires at least 10 weeks duration. For the virtual program, its minimum duration must not be less than 8 hours.
