InSAF wishes, Happy New Year 2020.
We hope this year will provide more opportunities for us to make a lot more good effort on this Earth. Together, we carry out activities to ensure that Malaysia is listed as one of the countries with the highest food security index without neglecting our environmental responsibility. As the caliphate of the Earth, we will be asked about this "Amanah'' there hereafter. Indeed, carrying on agricultural activities is part of our obligation as a Muslim. The Prophet s.a.w said: "If you have the palm of your hand and you know that tomorrow will be the end of the day, then you should plant and do not let the doom happen without planting the palm (Hadith RIwayat Imam Ahmad). Increased food production to solve food security problems will also reduce the impact of the carbon footprint because local food production will reduce imports that involve the use of high fossil fuels increase carbon footprint rates. Sustainable agricultural practices will have a high impact on farmers. In addition to nutrient-rich foods without pesticides and chemicals, any oxygen produced by the plant that is inhaled by other organisms will be a reward for farmers. Every leaf and fruit eaten by other creatures will also be a reward for farmers. Sustainable agricultural practices will also ensure that fewer chemicals and pesticides contaminate clean water sources. Sustainable agriculture will not burn down forests for the construction of the new estate, thus reducing soil erosion, flash floods, irrigation and long drought or massive floods. InshaAllah, a sustainable agricultural practice with the use of compost, lasagna bed cold composting, green composting, rainwater harvester, solar energy capture and utilization, plant-plant, plant-microbe, and plant-animal interaction as pesticide control and fertilization, which we practice will help us achieve objective as a country of high food security, less carbon footprint, and have sustainable agriculture. Let us spread the word and knowledge together by giving the local community exposure to sustainable agricultural practices. InshaAllah, this year we will spread our knowledge to the nearby schools at the same time still carrying our task in the campus as usual.
