InSAF-Asiah plot design

January 2020

Preparing the Plot Area

Day 1

The wood chips increase microbial activity by supplying source of carbon to the composting pile. An active composting pile containing wood chips generates considerable heat, and a large amount of vapor is released into the air.
You can literally see the vapor emitted from the pile and feel the warmth of the composted wood chips. Composted wood chips will supply C and N to the soils. Leave the plot for at least 2 months before planting any plant to ensure plant will not suffering from N depletion.
Application of wood chips at the plot will increase the fertility of the land and beneficial for the next stage of the project.
