I am currently serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at IIT Tirupati. I received my academic training in statistics from some of India’s premier institutions—earning a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, an M.Sc. from IIT Kharagpur, and a B.Sc. from the University of Calcutta. I further broadened my research experience through a postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University, USA.
My research interests include Generalized Linear Models, Biostatistics, Multivariate Distributions, Spatio-Temporal Models, and Survival Analysis. I actively publish in reputed international journals and collaborate on both theoretical and applied statistical problems.
I enjoy teaching and mentoring students. I have introduced new courses, supervised several Ph.D., M.S., and M.Sc. scholars, and contributed to curriculum development. I also help organize academic events and serve on various academic and administrative committees.
Outside academics, I have a deep passion for music and singing. I enjoy performing both classical and contemporary songs in my free time.
