I am currently serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at IIT Tirupati. I received my academic training in Statistics from some of India’s premier institutions—earning a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, an M.Sc. from IIT Kharagpur, and a B.Sc. from the University of Calcutta. I further broadened my research experience through a postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University, USA.
My research lies at the intersection of statistical theory and applications, with primary interests in generalized linear models, Bayesian inference, biostatistics, multivariate distributions, spatio-temporal modeling, and reliability and survival analysis. I actively publish in reputed international journals and collaborate on both theoretical and applied statistical problems motivated by real-world challenges.
I am deeply engaged in teaching and mentoring at the postgraduate and doctoral levels. Over the years, I have introduced new courses, supervised several Ph.D., M.Sc., and M.S. students, and contributed to curriculum development. I also actively participate in academic administration, program coordination, and institutional committees.
I am particularly interested in short-term international teaching and research collaboration, including visiting faculty roles and staff mobility programmes such as Erasmus+, with an emphasis on research-led modular teaching and academic exchange.
Outside academics, I maintain a strong creative interest in music and singing, and occasionally perform both classical and contemporary songs in my free time.
