Prof. S.K. Tomar is a distinguished academician and researcher with over 33 years of experience in teaching and research. He currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, Faridabad. He earned his Ph.D. in 1994 from Kurukshetra University, Haryana, with a thesis titled Wave Propagation in Micropolar Elastic Solids under the mentorship of Prof. M.L. Gogna. His research interests include applied mathematics, specifically the mechanics of continuous media, fluid convection, and numerical methods. Dr. Tomar has published more than 119 research papers and delivered 131 extension lectures. He was elected a Fellow of The National Academy of Sciences, India, in 2017 and is a member of the International Academy of Physical Sciences, Allahabad. Dr. Tomar has held several prestigious positions, including Vice-President of the Madras-India Regional Chapter of the Acoustical Society of America and Founder President of the Chandigarh Vigyan Parisad. He has also served as the Governor’s nominee on the Executive Council of Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, and as a member of the Academic Advisory Council for MOOCs at the Consortium for Educational Communication, New Delhi. He was unanimously elected Vice-President of the All India Association of Vice-Chancellors & Academicians for 2020-2025 and continues to contribute to academic planning boards of Maharshi Dayanand University and Kurukshetra University. Through his exceptional academic work and leadership, Dr. Tomar has made significant contributions to the advancement of science and education.
Prof. Sudesh Kaur Khanduja is a renowned mathematician, specializing in valuation theory and its applications to algebraic number theory, as well as discovering criteria for the irreducibility of polynomials. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from Panjab University, Chandigarh, in 1978, and has since made significant contributions to the field, with over 90 research publications. Dr. Khanduja’s academic career spans several decades, having served as a Lecturer, Reader, and Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Panjab University, Chandigarh, from 1978 to 2010. She also held prominent positions at IISER Mohali, including Professor, Visiting Professor, and INSA Senior Scientist, before becoming an INSA Honorary Scientist in 2022. Dr. Khanduja has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Srinivasa Ramanujan Medal from the Indian National Science Academy in 2022 and the Professor V.V. Narlikar Memorial Lecture Award in 2015. She is a Fellow of several esteemed academies, including The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), the Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS), the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), and the National Academy of Sciences (NASI). In 2022, she published a textbook titled A Textbook of Algebraic Number Theory with Springer. Dr. Khanduja’s extensive career and research have made her a leading figure in the field of mathematics.
