Hi, I am pursuing a Ph.D. from the Computational and Physical Genomics Lab. I completed graduation in the field of Zoology from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Our lab hours in college always made me curious to know more and look beyond the concepts that were mentioned in the textbooks. I found myself inclined towards the field of biotechnology and therefore, after completing my graduation, I cleared the GAT-B exam conducted by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Education, India, and secured an AIR-51. During my master’s dissertation project, I with the help of my lab mates tried to draw a link between the disruption of the expression of circadian regulatory genes and lung cancer. I must say, it was a daunting experience to work with the team. Next, to further pursue research I cleared the GATE exam. After being admitted into IIT Mandi, I worked for a year with Dr. Prosenjit Mondal and he played a vital role in building my research aptitude. I have recently joined Dr. Hungyo’s lab and his discussions have always proved to be productive for me. I believe that the overall working environment of the lab depends on the supervisor and the colleagues. And I am fortunate to have a very conducive work environment. My current work deals with nucleosome positioning and dynamics of main and accessory methylation/demethylation proteins with CPG islands in normal and cancer cells. In my leisure time, I prefer painting, playing badminton, reading fictional novels, and hiking.
