When is the application deadline?
Priority consideration is given to applicants whose full applications is received by 5:00 PM Central time, Friday, October 1, 2024. Late applications will be considered only if there are vacancies.

When do I know if I am accepted into the program?
Applications will be evaluated by a review committee and the applicants notified by mid-November.
How much does the program cost?
There is no cost to students. Tuition, travel, and living expenses are provided by the sponsor, National Science Foundation.

Are projects assigned or can I select one?
You can select. We can ask that in your application by including your top three projects. We will do our best to accommodate your preference and let you know.
Can I propose a sensor technology related project that I am very interested in?
You can express your specific interest in the Essay part of your application.
What specifically will I be doing during the ExLENT Program?
You will acquire some basic background in sensor science and technology, and participate in one of the research projects you selected working with graduates students and professors.
