Sangakkara holds numerous records in international cricket. He's the only cricketer to score four consecutive centuries in ODIs. Additionally, he's one of only a few players to have scored over 10,000 runs in both Test and ODI formats.
Sangakkara has been honored with several prestigious ICC awards, including being named the ICC Cricketer of the Year and ICC Test Cricketer of the Year in 2012. He was also awarded the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year in 2011.
Sangakkara captained Sri Lanka in all three formats of the game. Under his leadership, Sri Lanka achieved notable successes, including reaching the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011.
Kumar Sangakkara, the former Sri Lanka cricket captain, was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame on June 13, 2021. He is one of the four inductees into the ICC hall of fame from the Sri Lankan cricket team, which also includes Aravinda De Silva, Muttiah Muralitharan and Mahela Jayawardene. He has left indelible mark on the sport and have rightfully earned his place in the ICC Hall of Fame.
