Dr. Kartik Kothari spoke extensively on career choices after BS-MS in Physics. Having gone through a rigorous graduate program, making some career-altering decisions, and yet keeping alive his passion for science, Dr. Kothari took us through his journey of loving physics and making a living out of it. Along with our club faculty advisor Dr.Rahul Sharma, the speaker enthusiastically interacted with the students and shed light on the different pros and cons of choosing Academics and Industrial jobs.
The event was open to all and around 50 students attended the session and asked questions about the relevant topic.
About the speaker:
Dr. Kartik Kothari has worked at Intel as a Software Research Engineer in the Logic Technology Development group since January 2020. He completed his Ph.D. in Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology where his thesis focused on Nanoscale Thermal Transport. He graduated from IIT Bombay in Engineering Physics. He is also a trained yoga and meditation instructor and has taught self-development and leadership workshops at various universities and corporations in India and in the US. He lives in Hillsboro, Oregon, and enjoys music, cooking, and working out. In India, he hails from Vadodara, Gujarat.
