Application Timelines
2023-2024
Responsibilities and Overall Objectives for the Class of 2024
Narrow your choices.
Meet your counsellor throughout the year.
Complete your applications in a timely manner.
Attend college meetings and visits on campus or online sessions.
Keep a record of all communication with colleges, teachers, and testing services.
Avoid senioritis. Colleges always predicate acceptance upon satisfactory completion of Grade 12. If a student’s academic situation changes at any time during Grade 12, colleges will be notified. Self-disclosure by the student of any academic inconsistencies is the preferred way for colleges to learn of these changes.
To avoid integrity issues during the college admission process, students should self-disclose disciplinary records when asked by colleges.
Reminder:
You are responsible for checking your college deadlines and for following up on the submission of your supporting documents. All applications are processed by the College Counseling office based on a “first-come, first-served basis.” The earlier you apply and have your documents processed by the College Counselling Office, the earlier your documents will be submitted. Consult with your College Counsellor for an appropriate filing date for your applications.
You must track your own applications to make sure that the admissions office at the college has received all of your supporting documents and that your file is considered complete. Incomplete files are held up in the review process and are generally not evaluated by the college until all required pieces are received.
Grade 12 learners must follow up with the college they will attend to confirm that a final senior transcript from IICS has been received by the college. These will be sent in June once the report cards are finalized.
