WHOLE SCHOOL
Dear IICS Families!
It is with great pleasure that I welcome new and returning families to the 2022-2023 school year. I am excited about our students returning to campus in person. My family and I are honored to be part of such an amazing institution, and we are extremely excited to serve the IICS community.
The 2022-2023 school year will be a great one, and as the new Head of School I am honored to be a part of such a dedicated staff, supportive family community, and, of course, to be around these amazing students whom I have met during my previous visits to Istanbul as well as during the past few days. Students around the globe never fail to inspire me with their optimism and hope for the future and I cannot wait to share these moments with the mighty Dolphin community. Together we will embrace the school year with optimism, and strive to be excellent in everything we do at IICS.

At IICS, our common theme for this new school year is to engage learners, the community and each other through the power of our conversations, by deepening trustworthy relationships, by collectively being responsible for the teaching and learning at IICS, by caring for one another, and feeling proud to be a Dolphin.

Community Calendar
Please note that the Community Calendar has been sent home with your child(ren) this week. Always check IICS Google Calendar for the most updated information.
We are excited to inform you that Real Madrid Foundation-Istanbul is coming to IICS! Marmara campus will be one of their training grounds on the weekends and the practices will start on Saturday, October 1.
You can find more info regarding practice times and age groups at RMF Istanbul. You will find the registration form on their website and you can register for any of the 3 locations, whatever is more convenient for you. You can see the head coach here.
Please note that IICS students have a discount with the foundation. Please make sure that you choose the Istanbul International Community School option in the registration form. First two sessions are free of charge so that you can see how the program works.
Important: Please note that all operations (sign-ups, payments, paperwork etc...) will go directly through RMF Istanbul. IICS is only providing training grounds for one of their locations.

Back to School Grade Level Presentations: More information will be coming out shortly from our Primary Leadership Team, however the Primary Back to School meetings will take place the week of September 12th.

SECONDARY SCHOOL
Merhaba! Welcome!
We are so excited about the start of the 2022-2023 school year at IICS. We have a full year of schooling slated with numerous CEESA and TISL tournaments to host and to go take part in. Class trips are on the horizon for the end of September and I have not even mentioned what is happening in the classroom yet. This year is full on!
The full schooling experience is more than attending classes; it's about getting involved in life beyond classes. Do have a look at what we have to offer after school and during lunchtime activities to help get your child involved and become an active Dolphin.

Dear Parents and Students!
As the Food Committee our mission is:
To ensure that our children eat good, healthy and balanced meals at the school's cafeteria.
We started the NEW School Year with some improvements, which already began in June. Let us share some changes:
1. We have 2 main dishes: A Meat Dish and a Vegetarian Dish.
2. Our kitchen in IICS is Nut Free.
3. We promote less salt.
4. Two options for the desserts: Fruit and Dessert (less sugar).
5. Organic ingredients.
6. Students with allergies always have special dishes: Gluten Free, Nut free, Sesame free, Milk and Egg free.
7. Salad bar with many options!
8. We have five different menus (Mondays: Mexican Day, Tuesdays: American Day, Wednesdays: Mediterranean Day, Thursdays: Asian Day, Fridays: Turkish Day).
9. You can also find a description of some dishes which are new or have specific names on the menu.
We are constantly monitoring the quality of the food by making audits, and meeting monthly with the Sardunya Team. We strongly encourage you to come and taste the dishes served by Sardunya's Chef! You may find the September menu here.
