Good - bye by Romial C.
After Warsan Shire
People leave home only when people start to disappear
like when a magician makes Cards disappear.
The earth vibrate like a phone people yelling:
”He was the only one”.
Hearing your best friend
did not make it, leaving your things because everything is bad,
seeing a dark sky hoping you gonna see his true color tomorrow.
Using your tears to communicate with the sadness
left without saying goodbye, giving a hug hoping
someone gonna wake you up and said it’s OK it was a dream
but the truth is not what we always want to hear.
People leave home only when people start melting
like ice on the sun.
I live home with a dream, dream that I’m gonna be back.
Taking the plane like :” I hope I don’t get sick”. Seeing the hands waving, hands that you wanted to keep you warm forever.
Racism was like the topic that we couldn’t skip,
Insecurity was standing by the door
Famine was closing the window to liberty.
The walls electrify with lies.
People leave home only when people start finish
Every race in the last place.
Missing the melody of the drops
of rain on the roof.
The feeling to play soccer in the mud
we weren’t professional but we were having a good time.
When the teacher did not make it
and we have free time,
the pleasure
Of
a
Surprise test…

My home is chocolate. by Willeiris D. F.
After Jose Olivares and Safia Elhillo
Where is your home?
My home is a tattoo inside my brain
I see it always when I look at myself
in the mirror.
Where is your home?
Is inside my heart!
The beach will laugh when it see me
Again… I wanna be a billionaire
To buy the beach and take to my house.
Where is your home?
Was very difficult to say goodbye
And say hello also will be.
Where is your home?
My grandma changed her old house,
Now i’m scared to see the new one.
Change house after 30 years living in,
Is a cloud with cold water.
Is chocolate in cold water.
Chocolate in the dirt.
Where is your home?
Is screaming and dancing bachata
With my friends and family.
Cousins are all neighbors, cousin is
Your brother, and they all dance in chocolate
Thinking on me…
Where is your home?
My home is inside
The memories of everyone
Who was with me.
Leaving Home by Firas S.
after Warsan Shire
I left home cuz
It's a battle where you kill
everybody you see but
you might get killed as well.
One thing that I still remember
is my neighbors chasing me
trying to take the ball from
me while I was running barefoot.
I felt like that I took
half and left half of my soul behind
but both sides were bleeding.
I left with a airplane
above everything and the farther
I got from my country the
more blood I lost and the
closer I get to dying.
No one understand
you and you don't understand no one
so it's like leaving your
grave but without taking your soul.
I missed running Barefoot
I missed my grandmother food
I missed heaven where
everything is there for me whenever I want.
If my country can talk to me
it will tell me come and take the knife from
my back and feed my kids that are dying cuz of famine.
My country by Nahúm T.
after Warsan Shire
Everyone leave the country
when they have the opportunity
My country is like a sweet candy
everybody want to taste it
Until they do not have
any more teeth and want leave
When I was leaving my country
I experienced a lot of feeling
In a part sad and resentment
At my country but also
Happy and excited but i know
I was an ignorant because
I thought this country was the best
When you left your country
You feel like you left a part of you there
I was a small guy
with two big bags bigger than me
With my mom next to me
Filling all the papers to get in the airplanes
I went in the airplane
And in the middle of the flight
I start bleeding out
Like a waterfall
Falling into a river
I miss the wind
Like the fresh room
Of a rich guy
The beach with warm water
Like is coming from a movie
My country is screaming
Come back we miss the little guy
That someday left us
But they do not know
That this little kid
Left for ever even though
if he come back he
Never going to be
The same
The Last Chance by Jarlin P.
America the mere representation
of hope itself, were aspirations and
dedication peak at it highest point.
Meanwhile I was living In a country where
The streets ruled all over the poors. The
Street decide who stay and who’s leaving.
We were desperate looking for a second
chance without listening to what our
Circumstance said behind our backs.
My family importunity lead to us taking
the opportunity to come to the
land of opportunity….
But we had to face a bigger wall
That was always The closest but it always went
Unnoticed: Fear of change.
Fear like a Non-Newtonian liquid, hard to get rid off
if you force out but easier the sleepier.
We roll with the punches and keep looking forward
to our future and patch the holes
that fear had left.
We openly received the opportunity that lived gave us and
uncontrollably start planning the bright future that awaits
us in the land of opportunity.
The Republic of Yemen by Abdulwahab M.
Yemen is like a Broken Heart it keep pumping even if it hurt
Yemen is a fire that could destroy anything
Yemen is a Voice of the Gun in your ear saying get out here!
Yemen is a Silvery Star that we see in a Nighttime
Yemen is like a knife that injures even if it soft
Yemen is a hellfire that burn anything
Yemen is a warning voice that say keep away from me
Yemen is a pizza that favorite to many countries to ate for Dinner
Country by Loregny C.
When people leave the country it can be for a good cause, my country is like ocean with many Predators
When the predators come together there may be a hunt, when the police use their club to calm the crowd when people say and affirm that the politicians and police are corrupt and the crowd is carried away by the courage and the feeling that their government is stealing them that it’s not worth trying so hard.
I feel bad and sad because my mom was staying in my country and I had a feeling in my heart of emptiness that she would not be with me in this new stage to say goodbye to my mom was a rune of the weirdest and strangest feelings that we experienced
I learned from my country all that I am as I am, I was in my cabin in the airplane I felt thousands of emotions my mind that i would be somewhere totally different from everything I know
The different feelings of sadness and helpless hess because you leave the place that you think is your home the place that saw you grow and that during the adversities we were always there
I miss my country to my mom the after hoons that went to the movies every movie that I saw like a candy rind cheering me up the moment, feeling happy and calm
Nobody wants to leave their county, sometimes they go out of necessity or to look for better things new orizontes but I feel that that my country will always tell me to go back
MY HOME COUNTRY (P.R.) by Stephanie T.
after Warsan Shire
Everybody left their country for reason
Well this is my reason why I left home.
I left home because after the hurricane Maria
there was no light, water, and school.
I got a lot of memory leaving my home. One of them
Was I got very depressed and crying because I didn't want to go and
Leave my home. I was thinking in my friends, school, and my whole life
In there. The first thing that I saw leaving my country was my family.
I felt that I was leaving one piece of me there and
That very moment I wanted the earth swallow me.
When I left by plane I just wanted to get out of the plane and hug my family again. I saw all my family crying that broke my heart.
I miss everything from my country, the most thing that I miss
from my country is the food. The food taste like if you was in the sky
Full of cloud watching stars all over the space. My home says don’t go
Don't leave me here stay with a little longer or forever.
The world so wide. by Sidra N.
Opened my eyes in the world so wide
Where my emotions could not hide
Everyone saw my skin and face
But no one saw my inner side
Side where my emotions reside
Side where I said the truth and lied
Side where I thought I was bright
Side where my all my dreams died
But still I could not see the other end
That the side I am living in isn't the sky
Where I thought I would fly
Opened my eyes in the world so wide
Where my emotions could not hide

I am a girl who proud of herself

Dream like a dream by Amalineda J. F.
When I hold a pencil in my hands,
A piece of paper above my sand.
I start touching my skin,
So I beg to feel the pain of the wind.
The wind blows away my skin,
That’s when I feel my pants are on my ring.
I start to fly with the music in my ear.
When I touch my nose, it completely disappears.
I start to fly around so I can feel the rain.
But I start freezing
And I remember I don’t have wings.
So I start singing,
When I touch my toes they are completely stolen.
When I touch my nails they are completely falling.
When I look around I feel the sound of the trees going.
I think about myself crying
I start asking,
Why are you leaving?
But I can see the blame of you showing
That’s when I remember I was blaming.
I start hearing the bird singing
That’s when I realize that life
Wasn’t leaving
And I start asking,
Are you coming back again?
But I realize you weren’t leaving
I was just going,
I was going,
So I close my eyes,
Let, the wind open.
I start shining,
I can see the golden,
I can touch my wishes.
I can even see the sun shining.
That’s when I start to believe in,
I start to believe in.
I open my arms so I can feel the love coming,
That’s when I feel the wind blowing.
I was going
I was trying
not to cry
But I was going.
I start shaking
I see your charming
So I stop regretting,
But I can still feel the pain of the flame harming.
And I start saying,
where am I going?
I feel like I was dreaming
When you hold my hands
I feel the sound of the shame coming,
And I try to promise that I will never leave again.
But I was shaking
You couldn’t feel my feeling
That’s when I remember you didn’t hear what I was saying.
So I start yelling,
But no one was showing.
And I start running,
But my feet were shaking.
I wanted to help them,
But I was wondering.
That’s when I heard a voice calling,
And I had that feeling that I was dreaming.
Then I open my eyes,
See you holding my hands,
That’s when I feel the love coming.
And I promise that I will never leave again.
When I hold a pencil in my hands,
A piece of paper above my sand.
I start touching my skin,
So I begin to feel the pain of the wind,
I promise that I will never leave again.
And I start dreaming like a dream,
I can feel your love floating,
I can see the hurt in your face hurting,
But you were smiling,
You were smiling.
And I start crying,
That’s when I feel the wind blowing,
The sound of the trees coming,
What about the birds who were flying.
And my heart beating,
I can feel your heart broken.
The sweetness of your hands on my skin.
I remember you were crawling,
Until you win.
And I start smiling,
Cuz of you winning.
And I start to believing that
I will never leave again,
That’s when I see the love coming.
And I start dreaming like a dream again.
