Thursday:

• Practice addition facts (sums to 10, make 10 & doubles) minimum of 10 mins.

*** It is highly encouraged to have your child practice addition and subtraction math facts daily: flashcards & computer games offer a great way to do this! Especially the make ten facts, doubles, doubles +1! We do drills weekly at least 3x, their best score is posted on power school as a classwork grade for the week!

We are currently working on Chapter 7

In this chapter, children focus on using different addition strategies to find sums of two-digit numbers as they explore the Essential Question: How can you addtwo-digit numbers? They use the:

• Make a ten strategy

• doubles strategy

• doubles plus 1 strategy

• count on strategy
