Our PYP-DP/CP teacher community supports our Grade 5 learners in the exhibition process by:
Meeting with the learners at least 2 times each rotation
Assisting in keeping learners on track
Helping develop goal setting
Providing time management advice
Asking guiding questions
Helping interpret sophisticated/difficult information
Guiding students in documenting all mentor meetings
Celebrating student achievements and successes
Asking to view and assist in completing the PYPX Journal
PYP experts are scientist, specialist and professionals from the fields related to the SDG foci of children's choice, who act as primary sources during our research process. Children work with PYPX experts through:
-whole class and small group workshops
-whole class, small group or individual interviews
The Grade 5 Homeroom Team supports the children throughout the whole process by:
-offering whole class, small group and individual workshop sessions
-holding small group and individual feedback and feedforward conferences
-supporting regular reflection on the PYPX process
-scheduling and managing children's mentor and expert meetings and interview
-obtaining access to a variety of research and design resources
Throughout the year long PYPX process PYP Co and ES Principal offer workshops, community sessions, reflection sessions and ongoing consultation and feedback to all Grade 5 learners supporting them in communicating with experts, access to resources, designing their learning products and experiences and taking action.
