Forest Sciences Youth Challenge activities are designed to strengthen foundational knowledge, critical thinking, and creative expression among students through academic and co-curricular engagements. The program enables students to explore how forest systems function as engines of green growth.
PFYS Nature Tour is designed to translate learning into lived experience through direct exposure to key forestry, biodiversity, and research institutions. Facility tours provide participants with firsthand understanding of how forests support science-based decision-making, conservation planning, sustainable production, and economic development. The afternoon sessions strengthen organizational leadership, governance, and international collaboration through the AFFS Congress.
Filipino Forestry Students' Symposium highlights the dimensions of forestry with emphasis on how sustainable forest management supports livelihoods, food systems, climate resilience, and long-term development. Through plenary and parallel sessions, the summit explores the key pathways such as forest value chains, bioeconomy, biodiversity and food nutrition, agroforestry, healthy watersheds, payment for ecosystem services, and nature-based solutions. This is complemented by exhibit booths from forestry-related institutions and organizations.
