J-PAL South Asia will comply with all the prevailing health and safety guidelines in India to ensure a safe environment for all participants. However, as the pandemic situation is still evolving around the world, guidelines may be updated closer to the dates of the training.
Participants should not attend the training if they have any Covid-19 symptoms around the time of their travel to Goa.
An international travel insurance covers a range of emergencies for example severe medical expenses related to accidents, illness, COVID related medical costs, losing of baggage, passport etc. Your domestic medical plans are usually not valid outside your country. Additionally, you may need to procure health insurance to apply for a VISA. Please read carefully the minimum coverage needed to apply for a VISA at the embassy and procure travel insurance accordingly ahead of your VISA interview and travel. Even if you already have a valid VISA for the trip, please make sure that you procure travel insurance ahead of your trip.
COVID-19 Vaccination
All participants must be fully vaccinated, i.e., have received the full regimen of a Covid-19 vaccine, with an additional two weeks for the vaccine to be fully effective. Covid-19 vaccination certificate is mandatory at the hotel in Goa. You will be asked to upload your Covid-19 vaccination certificate in your Health, Insurance, and Emergency Contact form.
Participants should have proof of aa proof of negative Covid-19 PCR test, not older than 48 hours from the date of travel. In case you have difficulties accessing testing facilities at your location, please inform Bhakti Bhowmik (bhakti.bhowmik@ifmr.ac.in) at the earliest.
Participants are required to wear masks during all stages of transportation from the airport to the venue, and during any personal travel outside the venue on training days. Wearing masks in all common areas at the hotel is recommended.
If a participant has any Covid-19 symptoms at the RST venue, they should stop attending all sessions and immediately inform Bhakti Bhowmik (bhakti.bhowmik@ifmr.ac.in).
Should any of the participants be confirmed to have COVID-19, the participant will have to quarantine for a 6-day period. Support will be provided by J-PAL South Asia to ensure extension/provision of accommodation for the period of quarantine. Participants’ offices will have to reschedule flights, as required.
Should any of the participants be confirmed to have COVID-19 or to have been placed in quarantine due to symptoms within 14 days after the last day of the training, the participant is requested to immediately inform Bhakti Bhowmik (bhakti.bhowmik@ifmr.ac.in), so that necessary contact tracing may be carried out.
