The Liceul de Artă,,Ștefan Luchian" Botoşani is a vocational high school specializing in music and visual arts. It is an integrated school where students take general and specialized subjects. There is a wide range of classes, from the preparatory class to the twelfth class (equivalent to second grade), which provides continuity throughout the pre-university period.
There are different fields in which arts students specialize: instrumental performance (piano, violin, wind, and percussion), singing, and theoretical studies. Regarding Plastic Arts, students specialize in: graphics, fashion design, easel painting, restoration of monuments and graphic design.
The material endowment of the school consists of 14 general knowledge classrooms, 30 instrument study rooms, 4 music theory classrooms, 4 visual arts classrooms, workshops, an assembly room, a school library with more than 32,000 volumes, a computer lab with more than 25 computers with Internet connection, complete sports courts and a wide range of instruments (piano, strings, wind and percussion). There are more than 700 students and more than 120 professors, 100 of them with final destination and 4 of them doctors. 55 teachers have the first grade level in the field of teaching.
The center has aroused interest due to its integration of the arts in formal education and thus has hosted several international meetings, in addition to receiving visiting faculty through KA101 programs. The center wants to promote the exchange for the training of its students in musical education and at the same time learn from other models of organization of studies and events related to music.
