The school is located in the north-eastern part of Hungary. As it is situated in a rural area of our country, a lot of students might have only any international experience in connection with previous Comenius, Erasmus projects and other projects (Without Borders Projects maintained by Hungarian Government) at all. As Mezokovesd is surrounded by small towns and villages, 40% of our students are commuters. Szent László Secondary School is both grammar and vocational school with 650 students and 70 teachers. The students between the age of 13 and 20 take part in a 4-,5-, and 6-year school course/education. The school provides three educational sections which students can choose. Among other general class, preparatory language class, six grade class, economic class, law enforcement class and practice-oriented 2- year-long course. As a smaller school, its students receive a lot of attention, f.e. for SEN (special educational needs) students to integrate them in mainstream and for students with fewer opportunities.
Besides the normal curriculum, the school offer extracurricular activities, such as sports. In addition, cultural events play a significant role in education. The school staff believe that it is important for the students to broaden their mind to Europe. Learning and understanding more about different cultures are essential to enhance lifelong learning as well as to become a well-educated citizen with transferable knowledge and skills of Europe. Nowadays the school have ongoing Erasmus+ projects in different topics: sciences in everyday life, culture and drama.
