Catalographic card

The students had to fulfill the catalographic card of the assigned castle:

1. Name of the castle.

2. Date.

3. In which period was it built? Locate it in a timeline that represents the periods of the Middle Ages.

4. Where is it? Pinpoint in the map and give the coordinates.

5. Type/ style.

6. Who ordered it? (Lord/ King). Write a short biography mentioning his achievements.

7. Architect (if known). Write a short biography

8. Historical context: What was happening during its construction? / What war motivated its construction?

9. Description:

   • Location (hill, cliff, meander, island…).

   • Materials

   • Dimension.

   • Do the sketch of it (object views)

   • Parts, floors, rooms (describe)...

   • Defensive systems. If there aren‟t many, how would you do to improve them?

   • The castle’s Achilles’ heel. Offensive weapons systems. How would you attack the castle?

10. History of the building

11. Funny- facts section! How was life in the castle/ in the manor/ in the town? You have to explain a feature or curiosities about the economy, daily life, feasts, medieval fashion… (you have been assigned a topic).

12. A legend. Don‟t forget to include the legend of your castle (story cube) in the mural.

13. Present day use. Can you visit it? Tourist information.
