There isn’t a quick fix to overcome the depression. However, there are techniques that can help lift the rumination that often accompany depression.
“The National Network of Depression Centers has found that one in five Americans will be impacted by depression during their lifetimes. Indeed, depression is the leading cause of disability among those between ages 15-44 according to the Center for Disease Control.” – Sherry Amatenstein, New York City-based therapist.
When you start to look the good side of the things around you, everything turns better. Because all of that, we select some good actions to help you in the process passing by depression:
Visualize A Happy Memory - Our brain don't know the difference between a thought and the reality. When a patient continually revisits a bad memory, he or she suffer the same pain of this event. Therefore, when all the dark feelings overwhelm you, close your eyes and go to a happy memory.
Take A Different View - If you force yourself to look up, there are a variety of objects in the room to observe and ponder—a bookcase; lamps: paintings; a window with sunlight streaming in. There is so much you miss when you refuse to look.
Tell Me Something Good - As long as the annihilating beliefs rule your self-image, nothing good can break through. Write positive qualities on post-its and sprinkle them around the house: stick “I have gorgeous eyes” on the bathroom vanity, place “I’m reliable” on the refrigerator and so on…
Make Plans – When a person is depressed the only place he or she wants to be is in bed. But it’s essential to make the effort to take a shower, get dressed, take a walk, go to the gym, and socialize.
Find Something to Look Forward To - When you’re down, you can search for something to put on the calendar that makes you happy and excited. Try different things you never done before, the worse thing that could happen it´s find a new activity that males you happy and excited.
