IDLA Launchpad Program Overview
Students enrolled in IDLA's Launchpad Program do so in partnership with their local school district.
This allows students to have specialized instruction in a virtual format without having to leave the classroom or home.
Onsite Launchpads: students participate from your local school.
Remote Launchpads: students participate from home.
Once your student is registered into this Launchpad course, they will also be registered into the IDLA course system. This information will include your parent/guardian contact information and you will, most likely, receive certain communications directly from IDLA. These certain communications may include:
Bi-weekly Progress Reports
If your student is participating in Launchpad from home, the IDLA teacher may connect with you directly.
Why is Launchpad being integrated into our classroom?
In an effort to specialize and advance students and their learning while remaining in their classroom of widely varying student needs, Launchpad will provide side-by-side partnership instruction for students in ELA and Math.
Launchpad instruction, combined with on-site school instruction, can include extension and intervention lessons to improve student outcomes in all spectrums. Extension instruction can include a student who is already proficient in a subject and growing their learning beyond expected student performance. Invention instruction can include skill-based instruction to close learning gaps and achieve proficiency.
What are Parent/Guardian Responsibilities?
Parents should continue to communicate frequently with the school on all educational matters concerning their students.
Upon student registration in a Launchpad course, a parent or guardian (submitted by the school) will be sent a Welcome email.
Remote Launchpads will require parent support from home. This will include learning coach responsibilities of:
Providing supervision during synchronous sessions.
Providing a quiet and distraction-free workspace.
Helping to organize and retain learning materials including paper, a small whiteboard, and a marker to make student responses easily visible.
