Analysis showed that individuals’ goals for their businesses, families, and communities were tied to their aspirations to obtain good job opportunities. Storytellers expressed a desire for steady employment for themselves and their families, job options available in the wider community, and their goals to be responsible employers themselves. For example, one farm owner in Honduras expressed a desire to be a good manager, saying, "In my farm, I would like to improve the salaries of the workers, so that their conditions are as good as ours. I see that their children do not have the opportunity to study. I want other families to live well with great prosperity and have the right to homes without economic difficulties, and have the basics of housing, food, clothing, education, and health."
Storytellers discussed labor and employment issues at the community level, and stressed the importance of providing opportunities for youth. A woman in Ghana highlighted this, stating, "For my community, I want to see job opportunities for both young men and women, contributing to continuous peace." The narratives also linked themes of employment in the community to migration. In total, 23 storytellers from five countries mentioned Migration. In the story selected as most significant from Cambodia, the storyteller emphasized, "I want to expand my business to create new job opportunities in my community, helping to reduce people's need to migrate."
