Welcome!

Hello, I'm Carissa Meeker and I am thrilled to be your students' first grade teacher here at IACS. This marks my fifth year teaching at IACS, and I am excited to continue sharing the joy of learning with our wonderful first grade community. 

I earned my degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Literacy K-12 from Boise State University. Currently, I am pursuing my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction to further enhance my teaching practices. 

A little about me; I have two beloved dogs, Haven and Oakley, who bring so much joy into my life. I am married to my loving husband. I have a passion for traveling and have had the incredible opportunity to visit eight different countries. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, making coffee, and caring for my garden. My favorite author is Jory John! 

First grade is a magical year filled with discovery, growth, and excitement. One of the things I cherish most about teaching first grade is helping students uncover their interest and develop a love for learning. I look forward to an amazing year ahead with you and your student!
