Learning Outcomes for German Speakers:

Year-long outcomes will be explored through multiple contexts.

• Listen and respond in small and large groups for increasing periods of time

• Use and respond to simple and common expressions and simple questions about themselves (name, address)

• Understand that each German non has one specific article (der, die, das)

• Use singular and plural forms of learned nouns correctly.

• Identify places/opportunities in the local community where they can speak German ie bakery, supermarket, school canteen

• Use local language to interact in the community in authentic experiences ie interviewing German-speaking staff at school ie caretakers, cafeteria

• Recognise and read familiar words and everyday materials ie signs in the supermarket, park, menus

• Read and understand familiar print from the immediate environment (ie signs, information)
