Terms and Definition
Athletics: the general name for a group of sports in which people compete usually to determine a winner.
Junior Varsity (JV): Junior varsity teams focus more on skill development in less-experienced players, preparing them for the varsity level.
Varsity (V): Varsity teams consist of more experienced players, who demonstrate high effort, skill level, and unwavering
commitment to the sport.
U13 & U11: The “U” stands for “under,” meaning players on these teams must be under the age of 13 or 11 as of September 1 of the school year. These teams are generally composed of 4th–5th graders (U11) and 6th–7th graders (U13).
ACSC II (Asian Christian Schools Conference Division 2): Comprised of Christian schools from seven countries throughout Asia (only varsity teams participate in this conference).
Home Games: Games played on ICSUD campus.
Away Games: Games played at other schools.
Tournament: Competition of three or more teams, competing for a trophy.
Invitational: Invite only tournament.
Meets: used for swimming and cross country meaning "race."
