How To

Make a Diddley Bow

by Lucia G.

Gather your tools. You will need a tuna can or mint tin, a hand drill, a long piece of wood (mine is 25 inches), a screwdriver, 2 screws, 1 eye screw, 2 nuts, 4 bolts, and guitar string, fishing wire, or steel wire.

Place your tin about 4 inches from the bottom of the wood.

Drill a hole for your eye screw about an inch from the top of the wood.

Put in your eye screw.

Drill a hole for your screw and put it in about an inch from the bottom of the wood.

Drill a hole and place your second screw to hold your tin in place.

Put a nut with bolts on each end on top of your tin and behind the eye screw at the top of the wood so that your string can vibrate.

Attach your string from the bottom screw to the top eye screw. I decided to add a second string for twice the fun!
