FOR 2025-2026: ICSAtlanta’s COVID-19 Procedures
***Please note that these procedures are subject to change.
Guidelines for when your child may have any respiratory virus (including COVID):
Your child can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true for her/him:
symptoms are getting better overall, and
has not had a fever (and is not using fever-reducing medication).
When she/he goes back to normal activities, added precaution should be taken over the next 5 days, such as taking additional steps for cleaner air, hygiene, masks, physical distancing, and/or testing when she/he will be around other people indoors.
Keep in mind that your child may still be able to spread the virus that made her/him sick, even if feeling better. Your child is likely to be less contagious at this time, depending on factors like how long she/he was sick or how sick she/he was.
If your child develops a fever or starts to feel worse after having gone back to normal activities, have her/him stay home and away from others again until, for at least 24 hours, both are true: symptoms are improving overall, and no fever (without use of fever-reducing medication). Then take added precaution for the next 5 days.
Per our regular health procedures, sick students will be sent home for a period of 24 hours from the end of symptoms (without use of medication). Please see our Parent and Student Handbook for more detailed information.
Parents do not need to report information on any possible exposures to the school.
Mask Usage
Mask usage is NOT required for staff or students. Staff and students have the option to wear masks should they choose to do so.
Mask Guidelines (if your child chooses to wear a mask):
Masks should be solid colors, or as close to solid as possible. Darker colors are preferred.
No words or phrases printed on masks (other than your child’s name and/or our school’s name).
No violent, inappropriate, scary, etc. pictures printed on masks.
Please do not send your child in with a Halloween-type mask, this will not be permitted.
Please note: scarves, bandanas, gator-type masks, and masks with valves are NOT acceptable.
