Dear colleagues,
We announce that the “19th International Workshop on Real and Complex Singularities” will be held in São Carlos, Brazil, from the 12th to the 17th of July 2026, and that the “School on Singularity Theory” will be held in Sundsvall, Sweden, from the 24th to the 28th of August 2026.
The entire conference will honor Professor Maria Aparecida Soares Ruas (Cidinha), who played a prominent role in the Singularity Theory community. Her scientific contributions as well as her commitment to the training of researchers influenced generations and left a lasting legacy, recognized both nationally and internationally. This special edition will be an opportunity not only to advance our scientific discussions but also to celebrate her career and impact in the field.
This is the 19th edition of the International Workshop on Real and Complex Singularities, which is a biennial conference. It has been established as one of the key events on singularity theory, algebraic geometry, bifurcation theory and related areas. It brings together world experts and young researchers to report recent achievements and exchange ideas, addressing trends of research in a stimulating environment.
The School on Singularity Theory has as its main objective to bring together young students and early-career researchers in Singularity Theory with more experienced researchers in the field. The school also welcomes senior researchers interested in exploring new topics within the area. This edition will take place as a satellite event of the Workshop of Singularities, and will be held at Mid Sweden University, in Sundsvall, Sweden.
